Let Amit’s old salary = Z 

∴ Salary after increment = (Z + 20Z/100) 

Now, 

⇒ (Z + 20 Z/100) = 30600 

⇒ (100 Z + 20 Z)/100 = 30600 

⇒ 120 Z = 30600 × 100 

⇒ Z = 25500
