Best answer
Let the given points be A(5 , -p) and B(2 , -3).
Given the slope of `bar(AB) = (-1)/(3)`
That is , `(-3-(-p))/(2-5) = (-1)/(3)`
`implies (p-3)/(-3) = (-1)/(3)`
`implies p -3 = 1`
`implies p = 4`.
