चन्द्रमा का द्रव्यमान `m=7.4xx10^(22)kg,`
पृथ्वी और चन्द्रमा के बीच कि दुरी
`r=3.84xx10^(5)km=3.84xx10^(5)xx10^(3)m=3.84xx10^(8)m`
तथा `G=6.7xx10^(-11)Nm^(2)//kg^(2).`
समीकरण `F=G(Mm)/(r^(2))` से, `F=(6.7xx10^(-11)Nm^(2)//kg^(2))((6.0xx10^(24)kg)xx(7.4xx10^(22)kg))/((3.84xx10^(8)m)^(2))`
`=2.02xx10^(20)N,`
अतः पृथ्वी द्वारा चन्द्रमा पर लगाया गया गुरुत्वाकर्षण बल `0.02xx10^(20)N` है|
