Best answer
1)Let john has x marbles
Jivanti has (45-x) marbles
Both lost 5 marbles each
John has x-5 marbles
Jivanti has 40-x marbles.
According to Question
(x-5)*(40-x)=124
`40x-x^2+5x-200-124=0`
`x^2-45x-324=0`
x=36,9
if john has 36 marbles jivanti 9 and if john has 9 marbles then jivanti has 36 marbles.
