Why does current in a steady state not flow in a capacitor connected across a battery? However momentary current does flow during charging or discharging of the capacitor. Explain

(i) In the steady state no current flows through capacitor because, we have two sources (battery and fully charged capacitor) of equal potential connected in opposition.

(ii) During charging or discharging there is a momentary flow of current as the potentials of the two sources are not equal to each other.
