Assertion: The impulse of a force can be zero even if force is not zero. 

Reason: The impulse of a force is equal to change in momentum of a body.

Assertion: If the force is non-constant and reverses itself over time, it can give a zero impulse. For example: spring force would give a zero impulse over one period of oscillation.
