Best answer
`CH_(3)COOH` is a weaker acid than HCl. This is because of the reason that `CH_(3)COOH` is an organic acid whereas HCl is of inorganic nature. The degree of ionisation of HCl is more than that of `CH_(3)COOH`. Therefore, HCl gives more `H^(+)` ions in water as compared to `CH_(3)COOH` and it is a stronger acid.
Activity: Dip strips of universal pH pape in given acids taken in two test tubes. It will acquire red colour in HCl ad orange colour in `CH_(3)COOH`. this clearly shows that HCl is a stronger acid.
