Best answer
Let the given event be E and let P(E) = x. Then,
odd in favour of `E = (P(E))/(1 - P(E))`
`hArr (P(E))/(1 - P(E)) = 3/5 hArr (x)/((1 - x)) = 3/5`
`hArr 5x = 3 - 3x hArr 8x = 3 hArr x = 3/8`.
`therefore` required probability `= 3/8.`
