Best answer
The rain water is acidic and has pH nearly 5.6. This is due to dissolution of `CO_(2)` in water vapours present to form `H_(2)CO_(3)` which is of acidic nature. When pH further decreases to about 3 to 4.5 due to dissolution of oxides of nitrogen and sulphur in water, the rain water represents acid rain.
