Adiabatic process : PV = constant

Isothermal process : PV = constant

Now, γ > 1

\(\therefore\) \(\cfrac{dP}{dV}\) is the slope of the P – V curve.

∴The P – V curve for an adiabatic process is steeper than that for an isothermal process.
