The sides of a triangle are in the ratio 2 : 3 : 4. The longest side is 20 cm more than the shortest side. Calculate the length of all three sides.

Let sides be 2x , 3x , 4x then,

Since the longest side is 20 cm more than the shortest side,

4x = 2x + 20, 4x – 2x = 20

2x = 20

x = 10

First side = 2 × 10 = 20 cm

Second side = 3 × 10 = 30 cm

Third side = 4 × 10 = 40 cm
