`Cu^(2+)` and `Hg^(2+)` ions belong to group II of basic radicals. In the acidic solution, both are precipitated as CuS and HgS having black colour. `Mn^(2+)` and `Ni^(2+)` ions belong to group IV of basic radicals and remain in solution
