Best answer
Consider 1000 mL of water
Mass of 1000 mL of water `= 1000 xx 1 = 1000` g
No. of moles of water `= (1000)/(18)=55.5`
Molarity `= ("No. of moles of water")/("Volume in litres")`
`=(55.5)/(1)=55.5M`.
