Best answer
1.7% carbon is found dissolved in oceans. This oceanic reservoir regulates the amount of `CO_(2)` in the atmosphere.
2. Fossil fuel also represent a reservoir of carbon.
3. Carbon cycle occurs through atmosphere, ocean and through dead and living organisms.
4. A considerable amount of `CO_(2)` is fixed by process of photosynthesis.
5. Carbon from plants moves through food chains.

6. Detritus food chain releases it to soil.
7. Respiration and combustion of fossil fuels, burning of forest firewood and organic debris releases `CO_(2)` in atmosphere.
8. Decomposers pass substantial `CO_(2)` to pool by their processing of waste materials and dead organic matter of land or ocean.
9. Some amount of fixed carbon is lost to sediment and removed from circulation.
10. Human activities have significantly influenced carbon cycle. Deforestation and massive burning of fossil fuel has significantly increased the rate of release of `CO_(2)` into atmosphere.
