(1) Ethyl bromide : When ethyl bromide is boiled under pressure with an excess of alcoholic ammonia, ethylamine (ethanamine) is formed.
This is known as ammonolysis of ethyl bromide.

(2) n-propyl bromide : When n-propy1 bromide is boiled under pressure with an excess of ammonia, n-propyl amine (propanamine) is formed.
