(d) The Basel Committee on Banking Supervision in its paper on customer Due Diligence for Banks published in October 2001 referred to certain guidelines for customer identification process. As per these guidelines , the bank should verify this information by at least one of the following methods : (i) confirming the date of birth from an official documen , (ii) confirming the validity of the official documentation provided through certification by an authorised person.
