Coordination is needed at all the three levels of management. The work at every level is performed by a group of people, that is why it is required at all the three levels viz:
(i) Top level It requires coordination to integrate all the activities performed by middle and lower level of management
(ii) Middle level This level requires coordination to balance the activities performed by different individuals.
(iii) Lower level This level requires coordination to bind the efforts of all workers towards the achievement of goals
