Major changes in genotypes of arganisms arise from the mutat alleles through the gene pool. If the allele is dominant it will appear in the phenotype more frequently and be selected for or against more rapidly. If the allele is recesive and has no effect in the heterozygous state will not recessive and has no effect in the heterozygous state will not undergo selection until it appears in the homozygous state
