In any transition, as we move from left to right,the d-orbital sare progressively filled and their properties vary accordingly .

Atomic size decreases along the transition series from left to right though at the end of the series, there is a slight increase. Down the group, the size increases through elements of the second and third series have nearly the same size due to lanthanide contraction.
