(b) A `9.0 kOmega` resistor is to be connected across a `120 V` potential difference. What power rating is required?

a. `P=V^2/R`
`:. V=sqrt(PR)=sqrt(5xx15xx10^3)=273.8V`
b. `P=V^2/R=((120)^2)/(9xx10^3)=1.6W`
