Mass of the hydrogen atom `m_(H) =1.00783u`, Mass of neutrons `m_(n) = 1.00867u`, Atomic number of iron `Z = 26`, mass number of iron `A = 56`, Mass of iron atom `M_(a) = 55.9349 u`
Mass defect `Delta m = [Zm_(H)+(A-Z)m_(n)] - M_(a)`
`= [26 xx 1.00783+(56-26)1.00867]-55.93493`
`u = 0.5287 u`.
`:.` Binding energy `= (Delta m)c^(2) = (0.52878)`
`c^(2) = (0.52878)(931.5MeV) = 492.55 MeV`
