For the circuit shown here, find the current flowing through the 1 Q resistor. Assume that the two diodes D1 and D2 are ideal diodes.

Diode D1 is forward biased, while diode D2 reverse biased.

Hence the resistances of (ideal) diodes D, and D2 can be taken as zero and infinity respectively.

The given circuit can therefore be redrawn shown in the figure.

Current flowing in the 1 Q resistor, is 2 A.
