(b) (i) Role of pituitary hormones: FSH (Follicular Stimulating Hormone) and LH (Luteinising hormone) are the pituitary hormones which are secreted during menstrual cycle in human females. FSH stimulates the growth of primary oocyte into secondary oocyte and graafian follicle while LH induces ovulation. 

(ii) Role of ovarian hormones : Oestrogen and progesterone are the ovarian hormones. Oestrogen stimulates the proliferation of endometrium of uterine wall, while progesterone has an important role in the maintenance of endometrium for implantation of fertilized ovum and in other events of pregnancy.
