Assertion : For the reaction
`CHCI_(3) + CI_(2) to CCI_(4) HCI`
Rate = `k[CHCI_(3)][CI_(2)]^(1//2)`
Reason : Rate of reaction is always equals to the sum of the stoichiometic coefficients of the reacting species in a balanced chemical equation.
A. If both assertion and reason are true and reason is the correct explanation of assertion.
B. If both assertion and reason are true but reason is not the correct explanation of assertion.

Correct Answer - C
Rate of reaction depends upon the experimental conditions such as concentration of reactants, temperature and catalyst. It may or may not be equal to the stoichiometric coeffieicents of the reacting species in a balanced chemcial equation.
