With the help of diagram explain the role of activated complex in a reaction.

It is believed that when the reactant molecules absorb energy, their bonds are loosened and new Ioose bonds are formed between them (A and B both). The intermediate thus formed is called an activated complex. It is unstable and immediately dissociated to form the stable products.
