Correct Answer - D
`SnCl_(2)` is used as a reducing agent but the stable oxidation state of tin is +4. thus `Sn^(2+)` can readily undergo oxidation to `Sn^(4+)` and will act as a reducing agent.
`Sn^(2+) to Sn^(4+) +2e^(-)`
