Best answer

When touched an object appear cold if heat flows from our hand to the object. On the other hand it appears hot, if heat flows from the object towards our hand. Therefore a block of wood and block of metal will appear equally cold or equally hot if there is no exchange of heat between hand and the block. So the two blocks will appear equally cold or equally hot if they are at the same temperature as that of our hands i.e. the temperature of our body.
