Explanation

An extensive property of a system is that property which depends upon the amount of the substance or substances present in the system e.g. mass, volume, energy entropy. Gibbs potential, enthalpy. Whereas intensive properties are those properties of a system, which are characteristic of the substance or substances present, and are independent of its mass. Temperature, pressure, density, heat capacity, boiling point etc, are intensive property.
