1. Liverworts (Hepaticeae) are known as lower members of Bryophyta.

 2. Gametophyte possesses flat plant body called thallus. The thallus is green, dorsiventral, prostrate with unicellular rhizoids. 

Examples: Riccia, Marchantia.
