Democracies lead to peaceful and harmonious life among citizens in the following ways :
(i) Democracies usually develop a procedure to conduct their competition. This reduces the possibility of these tensions becoming explosive or violent.
(ii) Democracy safeguards the Fundamental Rights which are defined as basic human freedoms for a proper and harmonious development of personality.
(iii) No society can permanently resolve conflicts among different groups. Democracies evolve mechanisms to negotiate the differences.
(iv) Ability to handle social difference, division and conflicts is a plus point of democratic regime. Thus democracy leads to peaceful and harmonious life among citizens.
