Correct option is (A) 11/4

x – 1 = \(\frac{7}{4}\)

\(\Rightarrow\) x = \(\frac{7}{4}\) - (-1) = \(\frac{7}{4}\) + 1 \(=\frac{7+4}{4}=\frac{11}{4}.\)
