  • Vitamin A is responsible for night blindness
  • Night blindness or Nyctalopia is caused due to the deficiency of Vitamin A.
  • Vitamin A is also called Retinol
  • In this disease, the patient suffers from poor vision at night. Also, it may cause premature death in children below the age of 5.
  • Food rich in vitamin A are Carrots, Spinach, Sweet potatoes, Lettuce, etc.

  • Vitamin word was used for the first time by C. Funk in 1911.
  • Vitamin soluble in water is vitamin B & C.

  • Vitamin K
    • The chemical name is Phytonadione, vitamin K is soluble in Fat.
    • The deficiency of vitamin K in the body leads to an increase in the clotting time of the blood.
