Best answer
Correct Answer - Option 1 : 15 × 10–7 m/s

Concept:

Seepage velocity is given by;

Vs = V/n

Where, V = Discharge velocity, n = Porosity

n = e/(1 + e)

e = Void ratio

Calculation:

Given, V = 5 × 10-7 m/s, e = 0.5

Porosity (n) = e/(1 + e) = 0.5/1.5 = 0.333

Seepage velocity (Vs) = V/n = (5 × 10-7)/0.3333 = 15 × 10-7 m/s
