Correct Answer - Option 3 : 25/7%

Concept:

12.5% = 1/8

14.28% = 1/7

20% = 1/5

25% = 1/4

16.66% = 1/6

Calculation:

Let the number be x.

So the number increased or decreased by-

x × 9/8 × 8/7 × 6/5 × 3/4 × 5/6

⇒ x × 9/7 × 3/4 = 27x/28

Decrease = x - (27x/28) = x/28

∴ % decrease = x/28 × 1/x × 100 = 25/7 %
