State and Prove Gauss's theorem.

Statement—

Total Electric flux is 1/εtimes total electric charge enclosed by the given surface.

Mathematically, Gauss law can be written as

ϕ = q/ε where q = total enclosed charge

ε = a constant.

Proof—Let us consider a solid sphere of radius r of charge q is placed of its centre. By basic defn of electric flux

Since, electric field  vector (∈) and area vector ds  are in the same direction Hence angle between them is 0º.

Since electric field is constant. Therefore it is taken away from integration.
