Best answer
Correct Answer - Option 1 : 70% due to Moon and 30% due to Sun

Concept:

Tidal forces are based on the gravitational attractive force.

The tidal forces are due to sun and moon and the force is proportional to

\(F \propto \frac{M}{{{r^3}}}\)

Force due to moon is given by

\({F_m} = k\frac{{7.3\; \times \;{{10}^{19}}\;metric\;ton}}{{{{\left( {384835\;km} \right)}^3}}} = 1886k\)

Force due to sun is given by

\({F_s} = k\frac{{2\; \times\; {{10}^{27}}\;metric\;ton}}{{{{\left( {149785000\;km} \right)}^3}}} = 595k\)

Percentage of sun = \(\frac{{595}}{{595\; + \;1280}} \times 100 = 31.73\%\)

Percentage of Moon = \(\frac{{1280}}{{595\; + \;1280}} \times 100 = 68.26\;\%\)

Nearest option is 70% due to Moon and 30% due to Sun
