Correct Answer - Option 4 : fourteen lines

Sonnet: It is a little song or a small lyric that has 14 lines. The following are the properties of a sonnet:

  • It is written in iambic pentameter. Here, iambic is beat or foot that consists of an unstressed syllable (vowel sound), then a stressed syllable, while pentameter is nothing but five meters (five sets of unstressed and stressed syllable)
  • For example, deLIGHT, the SUN, forLORN, one DAY, release.
  • It’s a basic rhythm whose purpose is to please ears.
  • It resembles the rhythm of heartbeat and everyday speech.

Hence, a sonnet has 14 lines
