Correct Answer - Option 1 : Timely maintenance

Explanation:

Maintenance of machinery means its upkeep and repair in the event of the breakdown.

It also includes the renewal and replacement of damaged parts.

Breakdown maintenance

  • It is a type of maintenance used for equipment after equipment break down or malfunction is often the most expensive
         Timely maintenance
  • Time-Based Maintenance refers to replacing or renewing an item to restore its reliability at a fixed time, interval or usage regardless of its condition.

Preventive maintenance

  • It is regularly performed on a piece of equipment to lessen the likelihood of it failing.
  • It is performed while the equipment is still working so that it does not break down unexpectedly.
  • It is the most effective maintenance

Predictive maintenance

  • It is first to predict when equipment failure might occur, and secondly, to prevent the occurrence of the failure by performing maintenance.
  • Monitoring for future failure allows maintenance to be planned before the failure occurs.

Shutdown Maintenance

  • Shutdown Maintenance is maintenance that can only be performed while equipment is not in use.
  • Shutting down machinery can be costly, but sometimes due to the nature of the defective part/machine, shutdown maintenance is the only viable maintenance procedure.

Corrective Maintenance

  • This type of maintenance is carried out to correct errors that were not discovered during the product development phase.

Perfective Maintenance

  • This type of maintenance is carried out to enhance the functionalities of the system based on the customer’s request.

Adaptive Maintenance

  • Adaptive maintenance is usually required for porting the software to work in a new environment such as work on a new computer platform or with a new operating system
     Scheduled maintenance
  • Scheduled maintenance refers to tasks such as inspections and repairs that are performed according to a pre-defined maintenance schedule.
