  • Chinese pilgrim Hsuan Tsang visited India in the seventh century and stayed for fifteen years during Harsha’s reign, the travel time was 629AD to 645AD.
  • In 670 AD another Chinese pilgrim visited India, I-tsing also recorded Nalanda.
  • Hsuan Tsang described India divide into three varnas Brahmanas, kshatriyas and Shudras( those who do agriculture) along with these three there was additional varna known as untouchables.
