Correct Answer - Option 2 : a - 4, b - 1, c - 2, d - 3

Concept:

  • Monobasic acid

An acid that can donate only one hydrogen ion to a base in an acid-base reaction is known as monobasic acid.

HCl, H3BOare examples of monobasic acid.

  • Dibasic acid

Dibasic acid has two replaceable hydrogen atoms per acid molecule.

H2SO4, H3PO3 are examples of dibasic acid.

  • Protophilic solvent

Solvents have a greater tendency to accept protons.

Water, alcohol and liquid ammonia are examples of protophilic solvents.

  • Reducing Agent

A reducing agent is a substance that can be oxidized by losing some of its electrons.

LiAlH4, HI are examples of reducing agents.

Explanation:

List - I  List - II
a. HI 4.  Strong reducing agent
b. H3BO3 1.Monobasic acid
c. H3PO3 2.Dibasic acid
d.Liquid NH3 3. Protophilic solvent
