Correct Answer - Option 3 : both K.E. and P.E

Concept:

Potential energy (PE):

  • The energy possessed by a body by virtue of its position or configuration is called potential energy.
  • PE = mgh
  • where, m = mass of the body, g = acceleration due to gravity and h = height of the body

Kinetic Energy (KE)
The energy possessed by a body due to the virtue of its motion is called kinetic energy.

\(K = \frac{1}{2} mv^2\)

m is mass, v is speed of the bird

Explanation:

  • The bird is flying at a height,so it is having potential energy due to height.
  • It is flying, so it must be having some speed. So, the bird also have kinetic energy.
  • So, both kinetic energy and potential energy are possessed by the bird

'both K.E. and P.E.' is the correct option.
