A train is 150 m long. It is running at a speed of 41 kmph. A man is running at 11 kmph in the same direction as the train. In what time will it pass the man?
1. 18 seconds

4. \(\dfrac{11}{41} seconds\)

Correct Answer - Option 1 : 18 seconds

Given:

Length of train = 150 m

Speed of train = 41 kmph

Speed of man = 11 kmph

Formula used:

Speed = Distance/Time

Relative speed, If two train running in opposite direction = sum of speed of both the trains

Relative speed, If two train running in same direction = Difference of speed of both the trains

Calculation:

Relative speed of train and man , if same direction = 41 – 11 = 30 kmph

⇒ 30 × 5/18

Time = 150 × 18/5 × 1/30

⇒ 18 seconds

∴ Time will it pass the man is 18 seconds
