Correct Answer - Option 1 : 1/2

Given:

Men = 50, Days1 = 8 days, Hours1 = 16 hours,

Men2 = 40, Days2 = 20 days, Hours2 = 4  hours,

Formula used:

M1D1H1/W1 = M2D2H2/W2

Where,

M1 = Men = 50, D1 = Days1 = 8 days, H1 = Hours1 = 16 hours,

M2 = Men2 = 40, D2 = Days2 = 20 days, H2 = Hours2 = 4  hours,

W1 = Work , W2 = Work

Calculation:

Let the part of that work which can be completed by 40 men in 20 days, working 4 hours per day be x

M1D1H1/W = M2D2H2/W

⇒ (50 × 8 × 16)/1 = (40 × 20 × 4)/x

⇒ x = 1/2

∴ 1/2 part of that work can be completed
