Correct Answer - Option 1 : 8 days

Given:

A's 2 days work is equal to B's 3 days work.

Calculation:

A's 2 days work = B's 3 days work

We know that,

Efficiency is inversely proportional to the Time taken when the amount of work done is constant

A/B = 3/2

⇒ A one-day work efficiency = 3 unit/day

⇒ B one-day work efficiency = 2 unit/day

According to the question,

If B can complete the work in 12 days

∴ Total work done = 12 × 2= 24 units

A completed the work = Total work done/A one-day work efficiency

⇒ A completed the work = 24/3 = 8 days

∴ A completed the work in 8 days.
