Correct Answer - Option 2 : Rs. 1650

Given∶

The percentage of commission upto Rs. 10,000 = 4%

The percentage of commission over Rs. 10,000 = 5%

Formula Used∶

Basics of percentage.

Calculation∶

The amount of commission on sale upto Rs. 10,000 = 4% of 10,000

⇒ 4/100 × 10000

⇒ Rs. 400

Again,

The amount of commission on sale over Rs. 10000

⇒ 5/100 (35000 - 10000) = 5/100 × 25000

⇒ Rs. 1250

Total commission = 400 + 1250

⇒ Rs. 1650

∴ Total income on the sale of Rs. 35000 is Rs. 1650.
