Correct Answer - Option 1 : Common classroom

The teaching-learning process should be designed so as to help the learner acquire knowledge and skills in an interactive environment. It should be seen as an opportunity for teachers and students to learn together. There is a need to shift from the mere transmission of information to involvement in group work, debate and discussions. Some of the classroom environments are described below:

  • Common classroom: In this, the teacher prepares for the lesson with a variety of resources and strategies, but with no particular learner in mind.
  • Vocational Classroom: In this, guidance is provided so that individuals choose an occupation, prepare for it, and progress in it. In other words, it helps an individual to develop insight into what he wants to be in life, what he is best capable of doing, his abilities, interests, aptitudes and his limitations.
  • Inclusive Classroom: It allows educating children with disabilities and difficulties in learning with the normal child full time under the same roof. In this approach, all the students study together irrespective of their strength or weaknesses in any terms.
  • Integrated Classroom: In an integrated class as well, both students with disability and normal students are taught together. The difference, in an integrated classroom, it is the responsibility of students to participate in classroom activity rather than that of a teacher (which happens in an inclusive classroom).
