Correct Answer - Option 2 : 40

Given:

Certain men take to complete a piece of work = 60 days

Formula Used:

Total work = Number of men × Number of days

Calculation:

Let us take the certain number of  men as x

Total work done x men = x × 60

Time taken by (x + 8) men to complete the work = (60 - 10) = 50 days

According to the question,

60x = (x + 8) × 50

⇒ 60x - 50x = 400

⇒ x = 40 men

∴ The number of men originally is 40
