  • Article 214 of the Indian constitution says that there shall be a high court for each state.
  • The Governor may promulgate the Ordinances under certain circumstances under Article 213.
  • Every High Court shall consist of a chief justice and such other judges that as the President may decide.
  • Judges of the High Court are appointed by President.
  • Judges of the high court are removed by the president on the same ground and manners as the judges of the supreme court are removed.
  • Article 226 deals with the power of the High court to issue a direction, order, and writs for enforcement of fundamental rights and other legal rights.
  • As per the provision of the Constitution of India common High Court can be established for two or more States.
  • Article 231 Constitution of India deals with the establishment of a common High Court for two or more States.
