  • In the year 1675, Guru Tegh Bahadur was Killed in Delhi under the orders of the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb, the sixth Mughal emperor, India.
  • He was named head of the Sikh community after the death of the seven-year-old Guru Har Krishan.
  • The name Guru Tegh Bahadur was given to him by Guru Hargobind.

    • He was also an avid traveller and played a key role in setting up preaching centres throughout the Indian subcontinent.
    • During one such mission, he founded the town of Chak-Nanki in Punjab, which later became a part of Punjab’s Anandpur Sahib.
    • In the year 1675, Guru Tegh Bahadur was executed in Delhi under the orders of the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb.
