Correct Answer - Option 2 : 53 days

Given:

8 women and 10 men can complete a task in 30 days

A woman is 40% more efficient than a man.

Formula used:

M1 × Eff1 × D1 = M2 × Eff2 × D2, where M = number of workers, D = number of days and Eff. = efficiency of worker

Calculation:

A woman is 40% more efficient than a man

⇒ If efficiency of man is 5 then efficiency of woman = 7

⇒ M/W = 5/7

Let the required time be ‘D’ days.

According to the question

(8 × 7 + 10 × 5) × 30 = (12 × 5) × D

⇒ D = 106/2 = 53 days = time taken by 12 men to complete the same task.
